No official confirmation has been given or released yet.  Stay tuned!<\/p>\n<p><em>Special thanks to Christopher Fedail!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Update: <strong>Bloody-Disgusting<\/strong> discounted the above report as false, taken from an <a tite=\"If Magazine\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ifmagazine.com\/feature.asp?article=2939\" target=\"_blank\">iF Magazine<\/a> interview.  During their interview with Englund, the following is stated:<\/p>\n<p><em>iF: I heard you mention that Billy Bob Thornton would be a good Freddy for the new remake. Is this a name the production company is considering, or someone you think would be good in the part? Why do you think he&#8217;d make a good Freddy?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>ENGLUND: I heard this rumor from a journalist at a press conference during Comic Con. I think Billy Bob is a terrific actor.
