Books
Several books are available about the Nightmare on Elm Street series and horror icon Freddy Krueger. Some of these books are adaptations of the films, while others serve to continue the Nightmare story or give a behind-the-scenes look into the productions. This section spotlights the various books associated with the series and its organization is as follows:
- Film Adaptations
All of the original Nightmare on Elm Street films, including Freddy vs. Jason, appeared in print. Only Platinum Dunes’ 2010 re-imagining did not see a release in book form.
- Freddy Krueger’s Tales of Terror
Tor Books published a young adult series in 1994–95 titled Freddy Krueger’s Tales of Terror, which featured Freddy Krueger hosting stories akin to Freddy’s Nightmares.
- Black Flame Series
Black Flame, riding the success of Freddy vs. Jason, published five novels that continue Freddy Krueger’s story after the events of the eighth Nightmare.
- Other Books
Other, miscellaneous books feature the Nightmare on Elm Street series: autobiographies, production collections, and more.
