    Premise: Halloween: NightDance is a four issue mini-series based around the Halloween mythos, with Michael Myers haunting the small town of Russellville, Illinois. This series takes place within the new continuity set into motion with Halloween: H20 and Halloween: Resurrection.

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): While watching the day’s sunset, Lisa reluctantly recounts to Sean an incident with Daniel, the little boy who Lisa babysat two years prior in 1998. She and Daniel had gone for a walk one afternoon, and had come upon the house where the Russellville hacksaw incident happened years before. Daniel ran ahead of her and into the house, with Lisa chasing after him. After she entered the house, she noticed Daniel had fallen through a trap door in the floor, which led to the cellar. Lisa rushed to his aid to find him badly injured. Determining her options, she noticed a dark figure up at the cellar door. The figure closed the door and locked it, leaving the two youths trapped in the dark basement. Two days later, they were found, however Daniel would never fully recover physically from the ordeal. Two years later, Daniel still draws Lisa pictures, which Daniel’s mom leaves in her mailbox, though she refuses to speak to Lisa directly. Lisa notes her guilt, fear of darkness, and continuing nightmares stemming from the incident, while Sean comforts her. Meanwhile, at the Russellville hospital, nurses and policemen have an altercation outside the room of the unidentified girl Ryan had brought in earlier. She lies on the bed; her eyes wide open in terror. Later, Lisa and Sean return to Lisa’s house, where Lisa decides to take a shower. Before going upstairs, she mentions to Sean Nikki’s infatuation with him, and that he should call her. He agrees and tries to call Nikki, although he doesn’t get an answer. While redialing, Sean notices a blood trail in the kitchen and investigates. In the shower, Lisa ruminates on her earlier conversation with Sean and sees blood at her feet. Turning around, she sees a disemboweled cat on the shower floor. Lisa screams for Sean, jumps out of the shower, and comes face-to-face with a shape in the bathroom doorway: Michael Myers. Michael and Lisa stare at each other, until they are interrupted by Sean rushing up the stairs. Michael reaches out and grabs Sean by the neck, then throws him backward down the staircase. Lisa screams at Michael to get out, to which Michael complies. He walks down the stairs, past Sean, and disappears out the front door. Sean gets up and chases after him. Lisa, panicked by the confrontation, rushes to her room to get dressed and sees her wall is covered in the disturbing children’s drawings she’s been receiving lately, along with a smear of blood. After dressing, Lisa grabs a butcher knife from the kitchen and, realizing Myers was the same figure who locked her and Daniel in the basement those years ago, sets off for Daniel’s house, thinking Myers has come back to finish them off. When approaching Daniel’s front yard, she is stopped by Ryan, who reveals Daniel is his wife’s younger brother. Ryan informs Lisa no one is home and wants to know why she is there, with butcher knife in hand. Lisa shares her story and the photos she received earlier in the day, one of which is the picture of Judith Myers. Ryan, recognizing the picture of Judith, decides to try and force open the front door to the house. Upon gripping the door handle, he winces in pain, claiming the handle has been covered with razorblades. Meanwhile, Sean has followed Myers to the Russellville cemetery. He approaches a freshly dug grave and sees the dead body of Nikki. Before he can react however, Michael beats him to death with a shovel.

    Premise: Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash was originally the proposed sequel to the hit film Freddy vs. Jason. Jeff Katz, formerly of New Line Cinema, wrote the original treatment in late 2003 for the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash project. This treatment added the character of Ashley (Ash) Williams from the Evil Dead film series; giving audiences an already established hero to take on the two villains. Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash was New Line’s best idea on how to continue the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th franchises, but Sam Raimi (Evil Dead writer/director) decided to not let New Line use Ash in the planned sequel. Due to an agreement could not be reached between the different camps concerning the use of the Ash character, Wildstorm Publishing and Dynamite Entertainment came together to release the sequel as a comic book limited series titled: Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. The first issue (of six) was released in November 2007, with subsequent issues released monthly.

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): Caroline tries frantically to wake up an unconscious Ash, as Freddy slowly emerges from the rubble of the demolished Voorhees house. Forced to make a run for it alone, Caroline escapes to a nearby fishing shack and hides with the Necronomicon. Freddy, furious at Caroline for taking “his” book, starts destroying the neighboring shacks in an effort to locate her. Eventually, her position is revealed and Freddy takes the book from her. Just as Freddy takes hold of the book however, Jason appears on the scene, and is quickly subdued by Freddy. Freddy gloats over his victory, but is soon sent flying through the air by Ash’s car, driven by the now awake Ash. Ash emerges and takes on the two villains. While all three battle each other, Caroline opens the disregarded Necronomicon and manages to find the needed passage to open a portal to the Deadite dimension. She reads the correct incantation and a gigantic portal opens above Crystal Lake, sucking up everything near it. Ash and Caroline grab hold of a tree, while Freddy (who is nearest to the portal) is drawn in by the vortex. Jason, unfazed by the portal, approaches Ash and is about to deliver a killing blow, when Ash’s car is picked up by the storm and slams into him, sending him crashing in Crystal Lake’s icy waters. In the chaos, Caroline loses the Necronomicon, which flies through the air and into Freddy’s eager hands. Freddy promptly tries to locate the correct incantation to to fix “this travesty”, but quickly loses the book to the portal. Enraged, he is sucked up soon after, which causes the portal to immediately close. Afterward, Ash and Caroline leave Crystal Lake, with Ash content that events “are over.” Later, the portal opens again and drops the Necronomicon on the frozen lake. Underneath the ice, Jason opens his eye.

    It’s the battle royale as the regenerated Jason Voorhees and the futuristic Jason X fight to the death in a gut-spilling horror spectacle! As the titanic clash cuts down all those around them, the pilotless space cruiser that serves as the Jasons’ battle arena descends toward Earth 2 and an impact that neither combatant can hope to survive. But will a fiery and certain death halt the terrifying showdown, as both Jason and Jason X struggle to rip their most vital secret from the undead corpse of the other? Only one shall survive in a shocking and horrifying finale as you have never seen or dared to guess!

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): Jason and Jason X battle, each wanting what the other possesses. Melda, stunned by what she is witnessing, manages to escape the bloody scene and tries to find help among the S.S. Fun Club’s flight crew. While she searches for assistance, the two Jasons continue their conflict, killing spectators, bystanders, and any others who get in their way. When the ship’s android captain is destroyed, Melda is forced to take control of the vessel, and with the help of android attendant “Alice”, forces it to crash land on nearby Earth 2. Both Melda and Alice survive the devastating crash however, as does the warring Jasons. With the ship exploding behind them, Melda and Alice escape into the woods unnoticed, leaving the two villains to their fates. Jason and Jason X fight inexhaustibly, until Jason X gains the advantage and rips off Jason’s head. Jason X tears open Jason’s skull and takes out the part of his brain he is missing. He then absorbs the missing piece, completing a memory of him and his mother. Now whole, Jason X sets his sights on his new killing ground.

    The gore-drenched showdown of a lifetime erupts in the depths of space as the undead, mass-murderer Jason Voorhees is reborn to face the cybernetically-enhanced and unstoppable future version of himself! As Jason X stalks the halls of an interstellar pleasure cruiser, a deep-space salvage team make their way into the remnants of the space catamaran Grendel, where the Uber-Jason was created. Hoping to gut the ship of its most valuable assets, the team instead unwittingly revives a curse that transcends time itself and reawakens the one, original Jason Voorhees. Jason’s divided reign of terror will be short-lived, however, as both halves of Earth’s most dreaded serial killer are drawn to one another for a confrontation that can have only one victor… And one survivor!

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): Following the events of Jason X (Special) #1, a deep-space salvage team docks with the burned out hull of the Grendel, where a chunk of Jason’s original head floats in zero gravity. When the team reinstates backup power and artificial gravity, Jason’s head falls onto the medical bed where Jason X was created, activating the medical computer. The computer, unable to rebuild its subject from the limited matter, sends its medical nanites to collect tissue from the bodies of Grendel’s dead crew, Jason’s victims. It isn’t long before the original Jason Voorhees is reborn. Afterward, he systematically slaughters the salvage team, all while sensing a vague memory of his mother, and indirectly, Jason X’s presence. Aboard the salvage team’s ship, the pilot, Melda, watches the team’s life sign readings vanish. In response, she undocks the ship and flies away at maximum speed, unaware that Jason has already boarded. Jason sabotages the ship’s systems, forcing Melda to dock with the passing S.S. Fun Club, a party vessel. After docking, Melda instructs the Fun Club’s maintenance crew to begin work, while she investigates what the ship offers. Jason emerges soon after, kills the maintenance crew and follows her. Melda manages to visit a couple of floors before she is confronted by the newly arrived, rampaging Jason X. She turns to leave, but is blocked by Jason. Jason and Jason X notice the other, each sensing the other Jason holds a part of the whole. The two juggernauts engage each other, while Melda looks on in horror.

    Premise: In 2005, Avatar Press began releasing titles from New Line Cinema’s “House of Horror” license, which includes A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Platinum Dune’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. To kick off their titles, Avatar released one-shot “special” issues serving as an introduction to the New Line characters and premises.

    Writer Brian Pulido, the bloody maestro, teams up with artist Sebastian (Hypothetical Lizard) Fiumara on Jason X, the horror story of a twisted super-powered amalgamation of Jason Voorhees and future technology! Set in 2455, Uber-Jason is brought to Earth II. Kristen, a bio-engineer, needs tissue samples from Uber-Jason in the hopes that his regenerative abilities can save her and her loved ones. She is convinced she can contain his rage. Big mistake! Uber-Jason unleashes a torrent of high-tech terror and gore!

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): Continuing from the end of Jason X, what looks like a meteor crashes on Earth II in 2455. The couple who watched the “falling star,” investigates the scene, and turned on by their discovery, begin to have sex. Uber-Jason emerges from the crash site and kills the couple. However, the scene quickly changes, and Jason finds himself back at Camp Crystal Lake on present day earth. He continues his slaughter, killing all those present. Again, the scene shifts and Jason sees his mother’s grave. While determining his situation, Jason is swallowed up by nanite technology. Afterward, it is revealed that Jason is imprisoned in a scientific lab and being tested on. Kristen, a bio-engineer, works quickly to gather a sample of Jason’s tissue. She and her android assistant, Michelle, discuss Jason’s regenerative abilities, and reveal that the surviving crew from Jason X are dead. Kristen, convinced Jason could “help” her situation, manipulated their holo-decks remotely. When the crew thought they had set a course for Earth II, they in fact set a course for Kristen’s lab instead. She has little time to mourn the crew’s passing however, as Jason breaks free from his restraints and begins to destroy the lab. After taking out Michelle, he sets his sights on Kristen, with his mother’s “voice” driving his actions. Unlike before, Jason’s mother’s voice can be heard by those near him. Kristen escapes his grasp and makes it to a medical bay, where her lover, Neil, lays severely injured from a prior injury. She uses the nanites to inject him with Jason’s tissue sample, in the hopes he will regain his health, so they can repopulate the world they are on. Knowing time is short; she lures Jason to a launch pad and tricks him into a shuttle, which she then launches into deep space. Kristen returns to an awakened Neil, thinking her gamble paid off. Neil quickly turns the tables on her, stabbing her in the stomach and revealing Jason’s mother is in control. In mother’s “voice”, he blames her for their situation and slits his own throat, leaving both to die on the floor. Meanwhile, Jason’s shuttle makes contact with a ship called S.S. Fun Club and docks. After the bay doors open, Jason begins killing the partiers aboard.

    Story: Chapter Two: The Silent Clown

    Premise: Halloween: NightDance is a four issue mini-series based around the Halloween mythos, with Michael Myers haunting the small town of Russellville, Illinois. This series takes place within the new continuity set into motion with Halloween: H20 and Halloween: Resurrection.

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): At the Halloween carnival, Lisa and her two friends, Sean and Nikki, are enjoying themselves. Lisa stares off into space thinking about an event involving young Daniel. The hurt boy is unconscious at the bottom of stairs, with Lisa at his side, her hands covered with blood. She is soon interrupted by her friends however, and the group decides to ride the carousel. While riding, Lisa notices a shape, Michael Myers, watching them. Panicked, she gets off the ride and sees nothing where the shape stood. Nikki, annoyed by the attention Sean pays Lisa, leaves for home. Meanwhile, Michael stands inside the hall of mirrors, seeing himself as a six-year-old in his Halloween clown costume, then seeing himself as an adult clown, and then seeing Judith. When seeing Judith, he strikes out and shatters the mirror. Later, after shrugging off her feelings of dread, Lisa decides to open her letter from Daniel. Inside, she finds a photograph of a girl who looks like her, with the name Judith written on it in red crayon. Two other crayon drawings accompany the photo, a drawing of a Jack O’ Lantern eating Judith and another depicting Lisa’s death. She and Sean gasp at the horrific drawings. On the other side of town, Ryan arrives at the hospital with the unconscious girl he hit with his car the previous night. The unconscious girl dreams of checking out the house where the “hacksaw incident” happened years ago (as referenced in the original Halloween). She and her boyfriend, Ben, investigate the house, where they discover Michael Myers in the shadows. Meanwhile, Nikki arrives home and begins to make a Jack O’ Lantern. Before she can finish the second eye, she is interrupted by a knock at the door. She opens it and is attacked by Michael. Myers strangles her, shoves an apple in her mouth, draws a clown face on her with red lipstick, and then stabs her in the throat. Back at the hospital, Ryan is distressed about his wife’s whereabouts, and after the police discount his Michael Myers theory, escapes into town. He does not make it far though, taking refuge under a neighborhood tree, not noticing Michael carrying Nikki’s body behind him.

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): Jason, now in the resurrected hands of his dead victims, fights to break free from their grasp. Freddy watches, and amused, summons one of Ash’s “Freddy” hands to drive Jason’s machete through his chest. Jason eventually breaks free and pulls the machete out, leaving him weakened on the floor. Freddy then turns his attention back to the Necronomicon, only to find it and Ash missing. Enraged, he shouts out at Ash. Meanwhile, Ash has managed to escape the Voorhees house and into the woods with the book. After running into a clearing, he is attacked by Deadite possessed trees and crows. Freddy, now able to manipulate reality, used Ash’s memories to bring out the Deadite force. After eating crow, Ash uses his chainsaw to free himself from the assault and meets back up with Caroline, who is the lone survivor of Jason’s earlier attack. Ash informs Caroline of the book’s ability to open a portal, which could be used to send Freddy and Jason to the Deadite’s dimension for all eternity. As they discuss their options, the book flips open, revealing a young Pamela Voorhees using the book to resurrect her dead son. Ash, annoyed, hands the book over to Caroline, telling her to find the correct incantation for the portal. Just as she begins, Freddy’s face appears in the clouds above, prompting the two to flee back to the Voorhees house for shelter. When they arrive, they look back and notice the Voorhees house is no longer there, but rather, the house at 1428 Elm Street. Three little girls in white dresses are jump roping out front, singing Freddy’s familiar nursery rhyme. Ash warns the little girls to run, but is soon attacked by the demonized children. While Ash is tied up with the three girls, Freddy opens the front door and grabs Caroline, dragging her in the house. Ash quickly uses his chainsaw to cut down the kids and rushes after her. Inside, Freddy threatens Caroline to hand over the book, just as Jason bursts back onto the scene. Freddy uses pieces of the house against Jason, effectively battering him to a standstill. With Freddy’s attention turned toward Jason, Caroline attempts to utter the words to open the portal. Jason however, realizing what she is doing, reaches over and snatches the book. Ash arrives moments after, and blasts Jason pointblank in the head with his gun, revealing Jason’s disfigured face. Unrelenting, Ash chops off Jason’s hand with the chainsaw, freeing the Necronomicon. Jason, mimicking Ash’s chainsaw hand, takes his machete and shoves it, blade out, in his bloody stump. Caroline promptly escapes the house with the book, while Ash and Jason square off. Jason quickly brushes Ash aside, throwing him through one of the front windows, out of the house. With Ash out of the way, Jason engages Freddy. As the two villains battle, the house collapses upon them.

    Premise: In 1989, Marvel Comics began publishing the first comic book series to feature Freddy Krueger and the Nightmare on Elm Street mythos. Freddy Krueger’s A Nightmare on Elm Street was published in classic black and white, on magazine sized stock, running for two issues before it was cancelled.

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): Allison and Juliann sink into Krueger’s brain, where Freddy manages to separate them and confronts Juliann in the boiler room. After degrading her, Freddy is repelled by Allison, who had taken the form of an energy bolt. The two dreamers awake shortly after; stunned at what occurred. Juliann, intrigued, prescribes Allison Hypnocil, to keep her from dreaming until she has had a chance to learn more about controlling her nightmares. Later, Juliann contacts one of her mentors and inquires about those who can dream stalk, as she thinks Allison has the ability. Her mentor warns her that dream stalking can be disastrous, and to heed caution. Meanwhile, Allison is to be transferred to Westin Hills from Springwood Medical, under the care of the skeptical Dr. Watley. After she is transferred, she will be taken off Hypnocil, as the institution is still reeling from the lawsuits incurred from the events in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Juliann, knowing their time is short, questions Allison regarding the first time she dreamt of Freddy. Allison explains she had a severe case of scarlet fever months ago and had a dream where she visited Freddy in a bar full of ghouls, walking off the path of “good” dreams. When Krueger tried to kill her, he found out he couldn’t, because she didn’t belong there. Allison escaped back to the path of good dreams, though Krueger has been after her ever since. Juliann, convinced Allison’s inner strength can destroy Freddy, informs Allison of her theory. Afterward, Juliann retires back at her apartment, contemplating her next move. While thinking, she drifts off asleep and is confronted by Krueger. After a game of cat and mouse, he tricks Juliann and stabs her in the stomach, killing her. Allison, distraught over Juliann’s death, vows to destroy Krueger once and for all. Three weeks later, after successfully ignoring Dr. Watley’s counseling, Allison draws pictures of herself to use in the dream; a wrestler, a punk warrior, and more. She’s confident that when the time comes, she will be able to finally eliminate the threat Krueger poses. While doodling Freddy’s sweater, glove and hat, she falls asleep, only to confront Krueger sooner than she planned. Allison combats Freddy using the different dream forms she drew; albeit to no effect. In a moment of self realization, Allison becomes Freddy, using the sweater, hat, and glove she drew. Freddy and Allison square off, where tapping into his power, she manages to wound him. When poised to deliver the killing strike, she awakens to a startled Dr. Watley, who thinking she is having an episode, orders for her to be sedated immediately. Allison, too weak from her previous encounter with Freddy, cries out in terror.

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): In Springwood, paramedics are called to the home of Allison Hayes. Allison, a teenage girl, was found by her parents in bed, severely wounded and barley breathing. The paramedics, thinking Allison’s parents abused her, call the police to investigate. Meanwhile, in New York City, Dr. Juliann Quinn is in the process of moving back to Springwood. She is having nightmares relating to child murderer Fred Krueger, and wants to find a way to confront and stop the horrific dreams. On the plane ride over, Juliann reads a letter from a nun who worked with Amanda Krueger, Freddy’s birth mother. The nun details the events of Amanda’s rape at the hands of the one hundred patients at Our Lady of Sorrows mental institution. Following the letter, Juliann examines the psychologist’s report on Krueger, compiled during his trial. The next morning, after another terrifying nightmare, Juliann attends a meeting at Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital, where she is assigned Allison’s case. Allison survived her ordeal and now refuses to sleep. Juliann meets with the girl, and the two discover they share the same nightmare about Fred Krueger. Juliann is concerned, as she knows Krueger has targeted her because her parents were part of the mob that burned him alive, but she doesn’t understand why he has targeted Allison. Later, Juliann convinces Allison to partake in a dream exercise, which will allow Allison to exert control over dreams. Allison reluctantly agrees. Starting out, Juliann draws a picture of a rock formation and hypnotically suggests to Allison that the two can meet there in the dream. After they fall asleep, they soon awake on top of the rock formation in Juliann’s drawing. Juliann takes Allison through some dream exercises, allowing Allison to tap into her “dream power.” Just as the two dreamers make some progress, Freddy appears and threatens to kill them both. The rock under the girls’ feet begins to change to a tissue substance, making them sink into the ground. Freddy, gloating over their impending doom, reveals the rock formation is his head and they are sinking in his brain.

    Story: Chapter One: A Shape in the Void

    Premise: Halloween: NightDance is a four issue mini-series based around the Halloween mythos, with Michael Myers haunting the small town of Russellville, Illinois. This series takes place within the new continuity set into motion with Halloween: H20 and Halloween: Resurrection.

    Plot Breakdown (spoilers): On October 29th, 2000, in Russellville, Illinois, Lisa reflects on her nightmares and darkening inner thoughts, hoping to one day dance herself free of them like a ballerina. The next day, she receives mail from a boy she used to babysit, Daniel. Daniel draws her pictures, which his mother then leaves for Lisa in her mailbox. Lisa takes her envelope from Daniel to school, where she and two friends discuss skipping school the next day to visit a traveling carnival. Lisa is shocked when she decides to open Daniel’s envelope and finds a child’s drawing, in crayon, depicting her death. Cut to Chicago, where Ryan and Marcie are taking a road trip Russellville, to visit Marcie’s family. They have not answered any of her calls, and concerned, she and Ryan plan to visit in person. Ryan reflects on how much he loves Marcie and what a good couple he thinks them to be. Later that night, a girl is held captive in an abandoned house, where she hears the screams of her companion, Ben, dying. She manages to escape her bonds and sees a man sitting in a chair looking at the dead body of Ben, which is tacked up to the wall. The girl manages to escape the house and flee into the storming night, with the man she saw in close pursuit. Meanwhile, Ryan and Marcie arrive in Russellville, where in the heavy storm, don’t see the running girl emerge from the woods. They hit her full on with their car, which then crashes nearby. Marcie gets out of the car to check on the girl, who is still alive. Ryan, hurt from crash, is horrified when a white masked man comes up from behind Marcie, stabs her in the back, and drags her into the darkness. In a panic, he stumbles out of the car after her, only to pass out. The next morning, Lisa checks her mailbox and finds another envelope, which she decides not to open. Her friend picks her up shortly after, and the two begin their “Halloween trip” to the traveling carnival. Unbeknownst to the car’s occupants however, Michael Myers begins stalking them.
