Title: Scream, Queen! -My Nightmare On Elm Street
Post by: HazelRah on June 06, 2020, 04:19:10 PM
So Mark Patton's documentary about his experiences making Freddy's Revenge finally saw the light of day and is now streaming on Shudder for those who did not have a chance to support the Kickstarter and receive digital/DVD copies.

Have you seen it?
Thoughts?

I love that there are so many documentaries created and in development for this favorite series.

One of the perks I got for supporting this effort was a Mark Patton commentary for Freddy's Revenge. And it did not disappoint .

Haven't seen it yet, but I'd like to. I don't care what people say, I like Nightmare 2. It's dark, it's creepy, and - along with Dream Warriors - Freddy looks the scariest in this one.

The commentary was a Thank You for supporting the production of the documentary years and years ago.

It's pleasantly informative and not just a rehash of his thoughts and feelings as presented in the documentary. I've only listened to it once so far. But it was immensely enjoyable. Mark remains an active participant throughout and shares a lot of big and little details . Makes me wish he would do one for Come Back to the Five and Dime,Jimmy Dean,Jimmy Dean.

A wonderful touch on the editors part for this commentary track is that you can hear the movie clearly in the background. So syncing it with a DVD/Bluray is easy....or one can just listen to the file all on it's own as the movie is just loud enough on the track to known where you are in the story.

The documentary, Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street, delves into his personal journey, from his career struggles to becoming an important figure in queer horror.

One of the standout aspects of the documentary is how it addresses the broader context of LGBTQ+ representation in the media during the 1980s and how the industry has evolved since then. Patton's vulnerability and willingness to share his story make the film deeply personal and resonant, particularly for those who are fans of the horror genre and its history.
