Kyle Sundgren submitted a terrific video short he wrote, directed, and acted in titled \u201cThe Dream Actor.\u201d Sundgren noted this Nightmare on Elm Street<\/em> inspired short was his final project while attending Orange Coast College film school in Costa Mesa, CA. Here\u2019s a brief synopsis directly from the video feed:<\/p>\n

\u201cOwen (Kyle Sundgren) is a misguided and confused “method” actor. He has an audition coming up for the role of Freddy Krueger in the upcoming remake of the horror classic A Nightmare on Elm Street<\/em>. His idea of researching for the role means he goes to his local diner and never breaks character. When he expectantly runs into his buddy, Sid (Ronnie Alvarez), he gets nothing but grief! Things get complicated when it turns out that his waitress, Jules (Jennifer Holloway), might just think he’s cute. What is a method actor to do? Will he ask her out as Freddy Krueger or break character and do it as himself?\u201d<\/p>\n
